Rachel Osten obtained her PhD in Astrophysics and Planetary Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2002. Following Jansky and Hubble Fellowships, she has been an astronomer at the Space Telescope Science Institute since 2008. She is currently a Mission Scientist for the Hubble Space Telescope Mission Office. Her main scientific interests are in the manifestation of the dynamics of magnetic activity in cool stars. She utilizes a multi-wavelength observational approach which spans the electromagnetic spectrum.
