Olivia Jones is a postdoctoral fellow at the Space Telescope Science Institute, working on infrared observations of local group galaxies to study their dust-enshrouded stellar populations. She primarily analyses spectra and photometry from a variety of space-based telescopes including Spitzer and Herschel. Her research focuses on dust production and dust mineralogy as a function of metallicity, with the goal to understand the chemical evolution of galaxies. Prior to working at STScI, Olivia obtained her PhD at the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics at the University of Manchester, during this time she was involved in many public engagement activities including producing ‘The Jodcast’ a long-running astronomy podcast.
