John Debes is an ESA/AURA astronomer at STScI. He supports the COS and STIS instruments on the Hubble Space Telescope and also works on coronagraphy operations for WFIRST-AFTA. He received his PhD in astronomy at Penn State University in 2005. His work focuses on constraining the chemistry of planet formation through observations of dust disks around white dwarfs and of debris disks around young stars.
